A Deep Dive Into the LGBTQIA+ Community for Pride Month

In early spring of this year, when discussing how Ford Architects wanted to participate in recognition of Pride Month, a question was posited: was everyone within the firm aware of Pride Month’s origins? This one question sparked a journey of education and discovery to help the firm learn about and better understand the LGBTQIA+ community.

During the following months, one of our staff took a deep dive into the queer community and its culture to help answer questions about Pride: What is Pride Month? What are the origins of Pride Month? Who makes up the LGBTQIA+ community? What is the history of the Pride flag? And why does Pride matter?

 In June, just before the official Pride celebrations in Denver, the firm came together to learn and discuss the answers to those questions, and now we want to share our findings with you!

We at Ford Architects are proud to share with you the presentation that helped educate us about the LGBTQIA+ community to help further provide education and awareness! We hope to foster curiosity and understanding by offering this presentation as a steppingstone for those who want to go on their own educational journey around the queer community.
